Why do I study indian philosophy?
-Seeking for the true reason-
Answer 1: Pastime
I have nothing to do but thinking something.
If I don't have anything to think, I will
go mad. So I must continue to think anything.
---This was a escape from the heavy problem.
Answer 2: Because I focus on the Indian thought as one of origins of our
Japanese thought, and describe asian method of thinking clearly by illminating
various aspects of Indian thought, and analyze Japanese pattern of thinking
to understand ourselves from that point of view, as well as clarify the
universal aspect of thinking by detailed comperative studies with western
ideas, at last draw the validest conclusion to the problem 'what is human
?' from a philosophical point of view.
---This was too noble to be suitable for
me.
Answer 3: Because studying philosophy(or
anything) is just living.
There is no 'artha' out of myself.
---This was fraught with dander to become
egotitic.
Answer 4: Because I find the universal truth
according to wise and make as many people
know it as possible.
Lives, thoughts, beliefs and senses of value
are various. In spite of that I am deeply
impressed in the idea of an Indian philosopher,
and enthusiastically study to know it more
exactly. While I study, the idea takes influence
on my own thought. Affected by it, I write
papers to make many people know it. If a
idea is believed as true by everyone, the
idea must be universal.
But this answer has a difficulty of communication.
I am seeking for more precise answer.
